At just 19, Sarita Thapa from Thalara Bajhang has transformed her life through dedication and hard work. Her brother and father are both seasonal migrants to India and it was highly likely that she would join them in near future. However with the support of the Srijana project, she enrolled in a six-month industrial tailoring vocational skill training program provided by Olgapurii Vocational School in Bungmati, Lalitpur. This opportunity was made possible by a project that covered her training, transportation, and logistics costs.

After completing her training, Sarita joined the Dallu Garment factory in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, for on-the-Job Training (OJT). In just two and a half months, Sarita earned NPR 27,098 (EUR 189.50). Her earnings have allowed her to cover her daily needs and save money. She dreams of advancing her skills and becoming a trainer or instructor in the garment industry, aiming for a brighter future with better earnings.

Sarita’s story shows how vocational training and hard work can open doors to new opportunities and success.
